Thanatology (Study of Death)

Thanatology is the scientific study of death. It investigates the mechanisms and forensic aspects of death, such as bodily changes that accompany death and the post-mortem period, as well as wider social aspects related to death... Thanatology does not directly explore the meaning of life and of death.[1]

The Bible says that upon death, a person is immediately taken to heaven or hell. There are many different parts to both heaven and hell. We know this from many sources, the primary and most important being the Bible. Other sources include the testimony of people God has enabled to see into the spirit realm (see "seership") through visions, trances and dreams, as well as people who have had NDEs (Near Death Experiences).
