Fornication is sex outside of marriage and God prohibits this for very good reasons. Sex is a wonderful blessing God has given us but it is most wonderful in marriage. Unfortunately fornication is becoming more common and accepted but it is a serious sin with numerous consequences. All sin seperates us from God but this sin God particularly hates.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

- 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

“...knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.”

- 1 Timothy 1:9-10

There are many physical consequences like pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. However, the most serious consequences are the spiritual ones. Many will disagree but it is true. Their soul will be fragmented and shared with not only the other person but potentially their other lovers. But it gets worse. Because of this sinful union, the demonic is able to participate, attaching to the souls, taking parts captive, and this can be exchanged between the soulish union. If they decide to get married some day, it will affect their marriage, regardless if they are forgiven or not. In the case of adultry it is even more severe as at least one of the people are married. It is just not worth breaking God's Law and there are always severe consequences, even if they aren't apparent.

I hope and pray that if you are not married, you will remain pure until you are. My wife and I kept our relationship pure until we were married, and we are both glad, and feel it was completely worth it. You can read about it here. God blesses purity and He has clearly blessed our marriage.
